Korea University Undergraduate Scholarships (Anam Global, KU STEM, Global Leader, KU Global Friends)
Korea University, Seoul, South Korea
Korea University runs several of its own named full- or partial-tuition scholarships for admitted international undergraduates, awarded automatically from the admission evaluation, separate from the government's GKS programme.
What the scholarship covers
Also: Bright Future(B), KRW 1,000,000/semester for 8 semesters (for national-scholarship recipients); Challenge(C), a one-time KRW 500,000 (TOPIK Lv.6) or KRW 300,000 (TOPIK Lv.5) award.
What you need
- TOEFL or IELTS or TOPIK 5Required from Spring 2027 onward (see 'other' below); specific minimum not confirmed this session. Academic version required from Spring 2027 onward; MyBest/Essential/Indicator formats not accepted. Level 5+ allows unrestricted major enrolment. Level 4 = 1 semester of language training plus a cap of 6 major credits. Level 3 or below = 2 semesters of training, no major enrolment yet.

- Uwayapply via oia.korea.ac.kr
- Statement of Purpose (no fixed prompts published)
- Statement of Purpose
- CONFIRMED POLICY CHANGE: Korea University's own online Korean-level trial test 'will no longer be available from the Spring 2027 International Undergraduate Admission' -- from Spring 2027 onward, all applicants must submit an OFFICIAL language proficiency score (TOPIK/TOPIK iBT regular test, or a KU/IEQAS-accredited certificate for Korean; official TOEFL iBT or IELTS Academic for English).
- Interview is field-dependent only, not universal.
Deadlines
- Date not published Fall 2027 application guideUNCONFIRMED -- only an official Fall 2026 guide (applications 2-27 Mar 2026, results 12 Jun 2026) was retrievable; direct URL guesses at oia.korea.ac.kr for a Fall 2027 guide returned 404. KU's established pattern (and its own forward reference to a 'Spring 2027' cycle) confirms it runs autumn-entry admissions, but the specific Fall 2027 guide had not been found as of this research.
Visa
South Korea D-2 Student visa.
Things to know
Nationality-neutral wording for the main scholarships (non-Korean citizen, non-Korean parents); the KU Global Friends award names Africa/South America/'developing countries' rather than Asia specifically -- Mongolia's inclusion in that particular award is UNCONFIRMED.
Two distinct integrity findings on KU's own page: (1) a general ghostwriting/plagiarism clause allowing KU to request explanation/evidence and penalise up to admission revocation; (2) an AI-specific disclosure rule, but scoped ONLY to the Art & Design portfolio ('if artificial intelligence tools were used in the creation process, please clearly state AI-Assisted'), not to personal statements generally. Put both in top-notes.md.
